Meet the founder + creative director

Mel
Illustrated by Mel was founded in 2019 by Founder/Creative Director and Head Designer Melissa Elia. A passionate designer, Mel’s love of creating started very early on in life.
After studying a visual arts and design degree, Mel put her passion and skills to work, working as a Graphic Designer in the fashion and beauty industry. Over seven years Mel learnt from the best industry, honing her skills and technique, until she was ready to branch out on her own. She specialised in creating completely unique, customised designs and illustrations. Mel found that her talent was not just creating the art, but listening to her clients and truly understanding what they were after.
After nearly a decade of working with some of Australia’s most renowned brands, Mel took the plunge, and Illustrated by Mel was born. A passion project turned niche business, Illustrated by Mel has gone from strength to strength, providing tailored design solutions to a wide range of delighted clients.
Over the last few years Illustrated by Mel has grown to provide a wide range of design solutions - all completely personalised and flexible to your unique needs.
